Description
Downtown Anchorage’s former Key Bank Plaza Building is in the process of being modernized and expanded into a sleek, glacier-inspired office building, which is designed by Perkins&Will. The overhaul of the nine-story Key Bank Plaza office, located in Downtown Anchorage, follows the abandonment of the building. In 2018 a 7.1-magnitude earthquake structural damage that rendered the building unsafe.
The building’s owners hope the project will reinvigorate Anchorage’s downtown area, which has not seen any new construction for the past 10 years. The $30 million project is slated for completion in 2022.
General Mechanical is the SMART Local 23 Signatory Contractor on this project.
