The SMART Local 23 Retirees Committee works across generations to ensure that of all our members’ retirement and benefit plans are safe and sound. At our monthly meetings, we hear from speakers who provide information of concerned to retired members – then we strategize on next steps our union can take to ensure retirement security for all.

Our union owes a debt to those who came before us. Much was sacrificed to build this great union. We have an obligation to ensure that those who come after us benefit from a strong and vibrant SMW 23. With teamwork in the leadership and solidarity in the ranks, and with active and retired members working hand-in-hand, the SMW’s future will be as bright and bold as its past.
